Coconut Oil

Virgin Coconut Oil, commonly referred to as VCO, is a very healthy food that you can easily add to your diet.

One of the most common ways to consume VCO is by using it in place of other cooking oils. In that way you remove an unhealthy food from your diet while adding a beneficial one. You can mix it with butter, ghee, or other healthy oils to adjust the flavor.

Other ways to get VCO into your diet is by using it in breads, chocolate, and many other recipes. I have some recipes on this site for chocolate, mayonnaise, and oatmeal cookies.

One of the most important things to consider about VCO is where to get it. Many VCO products on the market are heavily processed, and thus have little value. You want an organic VCO that is ‘cold pressed’ or ‘expeller pressed.’

There are many good brands of VCO. It is very durable, and lasts a long time, in heat or cold, so you can save money by purchasing large volumes.

The health benefits of VCO are many; ranging from improvements in diabetes and dementia, to protection against infections and digestive issues. The anti-inflammatory effects are also helpful for reducing discomfort from various ailments. For more information you can search for coconut oil online, or visit this website:

Equally as important, VCO is an ecologically responsible food product.

  1. If you are in Japan, a great place to find coconut oil is on http://www.iherb.jp. Many good brands at good prices 🙂

You should look for products that are:
    – organic
    – unrefined
    – cold pressed or expeller pressed

Some people like to use refined coconut oil for certain types of cooking, such as frying chicken, but I recommend using the unrefined as much as possible.
